Dozens of Israeli settlers occupied two homes in the West Bank city of al-Khalil overnight Monday.

The homes, located near the Tomb of the Patriarchs and reportedly abandoned for years, now got draped with Israeli flags.

Israeli soldiers were seen standing guard in front of one of the homes. A family of settlers was seen unloading building material in front of it.

Ownership of the homes was disputed for several years and it is not clear whether they have been purchased by settlers from Palestinians, or whether they are still under Palestinian ownership. The settlers have not provided proof of purchase as of yet.
