Israel’s treatment of Gazans amounts to genocide: Pundit

An academic believes Israel’s treatment of the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip amounts to "genocide," adding that Tel Aviv can get away with its crimes because the West is not willing to impose sanctions against the regime.

“What we have got here, including the behavior of the Israelis towards the Gazans, is an extension of a racist political philosophy, I mean of Zionism,” Lawrence Davidson, a professor at West Chester University, told Press TV in an interview on Friday.

“I am a big fan of BDS, the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions [movement]. I think it is a growing movement… and I think we have to support it a hundred percent and we have to build it until... this civil society movement can hurt Israel and force them to change,” he added.

Davidson’s comments came after the head of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) voiced alarm over the “dire” humanitarian situation in Gaza, saying residents of the Israeli-besieged enclave and the entire Palestinian population are grappling with “a crisis of hope.”
