American senators overwhelmingly voted for strict sanctions on Russia over what they call Moscow’s interference in the US 2016 presidential election as well as its alleged role in the crisis in Ukraine.

The bill which has yet to be approved by the House of Representatives needs the final endorsement of the White House.

Predictably, Russian President Vladimir Putin voiced his anger at the bill saying it will further complicate relations between Moscow and Washington. The sanctions bill has also angered also Washington’s European allies.

But what doe international media think about the latest anti-Russia move by the US Congress?
