Voting underway across UK in Brexit referendum

• Britons are voting in a crucial referendum on whether the UK will remain in the European Union or leave the block. More than 46 million people are eligible to cast their ballots. The final results are expected on Friday morning. This is the third nationwide referendum in the UK history.
   
• Iran’s envoy to the UN says any aid mission in Syria needs to be coordinated with Damascus. Gholam Hossein Dehqani said Daesh and other terrorist groups are hindering the smooth delivery of aid to besieged areas in the war-torn country. He made the remarks during a UN General Assembly meeting on Syria.
   
• The Mexican government holds talks with the representatives of the striking teachers who are opposed to education reforms. The talks were aimed at finding common ground to bridge differences. The talks come days after 10 people lost their lives in violent clashes in the southern city of Wahaka.
   
• The US has ruled out the use of military force against the Syrian government. White House Spokesman Josh Earnest says President Barack Obama believes the military option won’t work in Syria and won’t be in Washington’s interests either. Reports say troops fighting for the government have made significant gains in street battles with Daesh. The Takfiri terrorists now hold only a small part of the northern Libyan city.
   
• Fresh clashes have erupted between police forces and Bahrainis protesting the Al Khalifah regime’s revocation of the citizenship of top Shia cleric Ayatollah Sheikh Isa Qassim. Police used tear gas and rubber bullets to disperse the demonstrators in the villages of Sehla and Bilad al-Qadim.
   
• Iraqi forces are engaged in an operation to retake the northern city of Mosul from Daesh terrorists following the liberation of Fallujah. Iraqi troops continued their offensive in the town of Qayyarah west of the river Tigris. The army is hoping to use the strategic town to push towards Mosul.
   
• North Korea says it will not take part in any talks on its nuclear program because of what it called the continuation of hostile US policies. Tensions over North Korea’s missile and nuclear program escalated after Pyongyang successfully test-fired a new mid-range projectile on Wednesday.
