Western backing for Israel main source of trouble in Palestine: Analyst

Press TV has interviewed Sukant Chandan, a filmmaker and political commentator from London, and journalist and political commentator Maxine Dovere, from New York, to discuss the meeting of 26 foreign ministers in Paris which aims at finding a solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

Sukant Chandan said the West is part of the problem in Palestine and not part of the solution.

“How can we ask Britain, France, or the United States to do anything for the Palestinian people? They are the people who actually created this supremacism in the first place. Britain sold the land of Palestine to the Zionist European settlers and the United States is creation of Britain itself,” Chandan said.

So, he added, we cannot expect from colonial states and their ideology to do anything for the people of Palestine.

Meanwhile, Maxine Dovere said there has been a very unusual imbalance in favor of Palestinians in all peace negotiations since the Oslo Accords between Israel and the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) in terms of the concessions that have been made by the Israeli side and, according to her, always have been denied by Palestinians.
