In La Liga, leaders Barcelona have recovered from their recent slump in emphatic fashion after demolishing Deportivo La Corunia 8-nil at the Riazor Stadium.
The Catalan Giants desperately needed to respond after defeats at the hands of Real Madrid, Real Sociedad and Valencia.
But on Wednesday, Barca were back to their usual form and displayed a very powerful performance.
Luiz Suarez gave the Catalans a comfortable 2-nil lead in the first half by scoring in the 11th and 24th minutes respectively.
2 minutes after the break Ivan Rakitich added Barca’s third, making it 3-nil for the visitors. BUT Luis Enrique’s men didn’t stop there! Suarez got his hat-trick in the 53rd minute and then scored his fourth of the evening 11 minutes later after some good work from Neymar.
Lionel Messi piled more misery on the hosts with a simple tap in to make it 6-nil. Marc Bartra also found the net in the 79th minute after a strong solo run and Neymar made it 8 late in the match as Barcelona returned to winning ways in impressive fashion.
