US will not grant Iran access to its financial system

The United States says that it does not plan to permit the use of its financial system for dollar-denominated transactions with Iran, and that foreign companies could work through European banks. Washington has already come under fire from Tehran for dragging its feet on the removal of sanctions against Iran, under a landmark nuclear deal.
