Health club in London imports Mediterranean water

One health club in London is bringing the Mediterranean to its clients. It's helping the clients feel like they're on holiday without setting foot out of London.

The club has transported 25 tonnes of Mediterranean water from Sicily's volcanic Aeolian Islands to South Kensington for a new purified pool after it decided their members needed their regular fix of sea water.

After pumping the water out of the sea, the water was transported in 14 sanitized tanks on trucks and delivered directly to the club.

Club managers say the water is heated to 34.5C and constantly purified, making it cleaner than the sea. Its pH balance is adjusted to 7.4 so that it is gentle on the eyes but retains the benefits of sea salt.

Members are offered therapy sessions in the water which according to the club, contain minerals that are good for the skin and for recovery after a workout and membership to the club costs 365 pounds a month.
