Press TV has interviewed Kim Sharif, the director of the Human Rights for Yemen from London, and Michael Lane, the president of the American Institute for Foreign Policy from Washington, to discuss the Saudi aggression against Yemen.

Sharif said Yemen has become “a little playground for the Saudi regime.”

Riyadh seeks to subjugate Yemen through the deadly campaign.

“The critical issue here is the Bab el-Mandeb passage, the port of Aden, is of utmost importance to the world powers as they know very well that’s where their oil passes through,” the commentator said.

The activist said the claim that the war in Yemen is an issue between the Houthi Ansarullah fighters and the Saudis seems to be an “absolute nonsense.” She said there is a blockade on the impoverished Arab country, and the daily bombardment is “worse than the World War II.”

“Those who are supplying arms to the Saudi regime and its allies are guilty of war crimes and crimes against humanity and sooner or later they are going to have to face justice.”

Lane, for his part, said Saudi Arabia wants to “extend its hegemony to be the dominant force in the Arabian Peninsula.”

The political expert also called for “a ceasefire that works and peace talks that result in a solution rather than in no solution, which is what we had for the past year and so.”
