FISU picks Iran’s Ebrahim as technical delegate for 2017 Universiade

The Federation internationale du sport universitaire (FISU) has appointed Iranian Khosrow Ebrahim as its technical delegation and vice chairman of the technical committee for the 2017 Summer Universiade in Chinese Taipei.

FISU, which is responsible for the organization and governance of worldwide competitions for student-athletes between the ages of 17 and 28, in a statement praised Ebrahim’s experience in volleyball and hoped it would help further development of the sport.

“We are extremely pleased about your candidacy for the seat and we are confident that your experiences will be invaluable to the Organizing Committee of the next Summer Universade Games as well as to the development of volleyball in FISU,” part of FISU’s statement read.

Ebrahim is currently in charge of the organization of Iran men’s national volleyball team events, and serves as the dean of Faculty of Physical Education and Sports Sciences faculties in Tehran’s Shahid Beheshti University and the University of Guilan.

The 69-year-old is also a registered instructor of the Federation Internationale de Volleyball (FIVB).

The 2017 Summer Universiade, which will be the 29th edition of tournament, will take place from August 19 to August 30, 2017 in Taipei, Chinese Taipei.
