Tim Peake becomes first British astronaut on ISS mission

Star-gazers across the globe are expecting one of the year’s biggest meteor showers.

An astronaut with the European Space Agency is planning to become the first British citizen to serve a mission on the International Space Station.

About 70 percent of the sun light coming into the earth lands on the ocean which creates warm surface waters. There's also cold water in the deep ocean. This temperature differential has given engineers in the US a great idea for producing free, clean thermal energy in Hawaii.

In Brazil, one of the most impressive Christmas trees has turned on its lights, as dazzling fireworks lit up the sky.
