UK ISIL terrorist plotted Paris-style attack

UK national Khan who was killed in an air strike on an ISIL convoy in Syria in August was reportedly plotting a Paris-style attack in London.

The British media reported on Sunday that a national who had joined Daesh (ISIL) terrorists in Syria but was later killed in a drone strike was plotting a Paris-style attack in London.

Reyaad Khan was in the middle of planning an attack on the British capital when he was killed by the RAF in Syria at the end of August, according to The Sunday Express .

The strike was part of an operation personally sanctioned by Prime Minister David Cameron in an apparent act of “self-defence”, which was considered the only way to prevent terror attacks on British soil.

A security source told the Express: “Two foiled plots he was said to be involved in were the attempted attack on a VJ Day parade on August 15 and a coordinated shooting spree on the streets of Britain, most likely London.

“In the first attack, he hoped to murder Royals and VIPs while the latter plan was based on the Charlie Hebdo massacre. An ISIL sleeper cell, armed with high-velocity rifles, was to attack various targets and kill as many people as possible but the plans were severely disrupted following his death.”

Khan, who had joined the terrorists from Cardiff, was killed alongside Ruhul Amin, 26, from Aberdeen.

The pair were being monitored by MI6 officers on the ground, with information fed back to GCHQ.

It was found that Khan was a bridge between ISIL and its supporters in Britain.

British authorities have estimated over 700 British fighters have traveled to fight with the terrorist group since the beginning of the foreign backed insurgency in Syria.

Metropolitan police assistant commissioner, Mark Rowley suggests the fact that over half of the fighters have returned home poses a serious concern and threat towards the country.
