Iraqi government forces have reportedly liberated a city from the clutches of the Daesh terrorists as they push ahead with their military operations against the Takfiri group in Iraq’s strife-torn western province of Anbar.

A security source, speaking on condition of anonymity, said Iraqi troops managed to fully purge Husaybah, which lies seven kilometers (4.5 miles) east of Anbar’s provincial capital city of Ramadi, of Daesh terrorists and wrested complete control of the area on Monday.

The development came on the same say as Iraq’s military command, in a statement, called upon the local residents of Ramadi to leave some areas of the city in the earliest convenience as army forces, backed by allied fighters from Popular Mobilization units, are gearing up for a large-scale offensive to win back control of the strategic city.

The broadcast, which was aired on the al-Iraqiya satellite and terrestrial public broadcaster, asked Ramadi civilians to depart from the city’s southern neighborhood of Humaira.

Separately, an unspecified number of Daesh members were killed when an Iraqi army M1 Abrams battle tank targeted a car as it was traveling on a road in the northern al-Jarayeshi district of Anbar Province.

Also on Monday, 32 Daesh Takfiris were killed when Iraqi fighter jets carried out precision strikes against terrorist hideouts in the town of al-Qaim, situated about 500 kilometers (about 310 miles) west of the capital, Baghdad.

Gruesome violence has plagued the northern and western parts of Iraq ever since Daesh Takfiris launched their terrorist activities in June 2014, and took control of portions of Iraqi territory.

Army soldiers and Popular Mobilization units have joined forces and are seeking to take back militant-held regions in joint operations.
