US complicit in Israeli crimes against Palestinians: Analyst

The US has been a “partner in crime” in Israel’s repression of the Palestinian people for decades, an author and radio host in Chicago says.

Senior US officials have been a “partner in crime” in Israel’s aggression against the Palestinian people for decades, an author and radio host in Chicago says.

The administration of President Barack Obama fully supports the crimes of Israel, “one of the most ruthless regimes” in the world, Stephen Lendman told Press TV on Friday.

The recent comments by US Secretary of State John Kerry about Israel “having a right to defend itself” are completely deceptive because Palestinians are totally outgunned by Israel, Lendman said.

Kerry warned on Wednesday that the conflict between Israel and the Palestinians is at a "pivotal point" and could “spin out of control” unless both sides quickly made compromises.

"As you know, we're very concerned about the violence and the potential for the situation to spin out of control," Kerry told reporters as he arrived home in Boston, Massachusetts, after visiting Jerusalem al-Quds and the West Bank for the first time in more than a year.

"Over these past months we have been encouraging the parties to take affirmative steps to reduce tensions and demonstrate a genuine commitment to a two state solution,” he added.

Kerry held meetings on Tuesday with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas.

Kerry’s visit came at a time of heightened tensions between Israelis and Palestinians.

“The ‘spinning out of control’ is entirely the responsibility of Israel and its current regime, headed by Netanyahu, literally waging aggressive war against the defenseless Palestinian people,” Lendman said.

The fresh wave of unrest was triggered in September by Israel’s imposition of restrictions on the entry of Palestinian worshipers into the al-Aqsa Mosque compound in East al-Quds.

More than 90 Palestinians have been killed at the hands of Israelis since the beginning of October.

Israel says the violence is the result of incitement by Palestinian political and religious leaders.

The Palestinians say the outburst of tensions is the result of nearly 70 years of Israeli occupation and repeated failures in peace efforts.
