Syrian Foreign Minister Walid al-Muallem has backed Russia in its fight against terrorism. He accused Turkey of supporting terrorist groups on Syrian soil. The top Syrian diplomat also highlighted the ineffectiveness of the airstrikes by the so-called U-S-led coalition against ISIL.
The surviving pilot of the Russian fighter jet that was shot down by Turkey says the Turkish Air Force did not issue any warning. He says the jet was hit by a missile while flying in Syrian airspace. The pilot stressed that Turkish airspace was not violated for even a second.
Daesh Takfiri terrorists have claimed responsibility for Tuesday’s bomb blast in Tunisia that left at least 13 people dead. The bombing targeted a bus carrying members of the presidential guard in the capital Tunis. Tunisian President Beji Caid Essebsi has declared a nationwide state of emergency following the incident.
Israeli forces have shot a Palestinian man they accuse of stabbing and injuring an Israeli near the city of al-Khalil or Hebron. The Palestinian identified as Muhammad Ismail Shubaki succumbed to his wounds after Israelis refused to take him to the hospital. Nearly one hundred Palestinians have been killed since October 1.
The Leader of Iran’s Islamic Revolution says the Intifada of the Palestinian people has already begun in the occupied territories. Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei says Iran will defend the Palestinians in any possible way. The leader warned that the enemy seeks to destroy the Palestinian cause.
U-S president Barack Obama says his administration is taking all necessary measures to protect the country against possible terrorist attacks. He said there is no credible intelligence indicating threat so far. Obama made the remarks amid concerns that the U-S may experience an incident similar to what happened in Paris recently.
Pope Francis has arrived in Kenya at the start of his six-day African tour. The pontiff is the third head of Roman Catholic Church to visit the continent. He will address the congregation and seek unity between Christians and Muslims. He will also travel to Uganda and the Central African Republic.
