US government uses drugs for genocide of minorities, weaken Americans’ morals: Researcher
The US government has deliberately increased drug addiction among Americans to weaken their morals and justify mass incarceration as well as to wipe out minorities, a researcher and historian in Washington says.
“This is clearly something that is being pushed on the people by the decision makers; the hidden government of the United States wants people high,” said Dr. Randy Short, who has a Ph.D in African studies.
“There’s a whole agenda to damp down, to deaden down and to weaken the morals of the American people,” Dr. Short said in an interview with Press TV on Thursday.
The American government has “in particular use(d) drugs to attack or have a basis for mass incarceration if not incremental genocide of populations like African Americans and indigenous Americans,” he added.
A number of researchers have claimed that the CIA and several other US government agencies have been involved in drug trafficking.
American historian Alfred W. McCoy has stated that the CIA's role in drug trafficking has involved various forms of complicity, tolerance or deliberate ignorance about the trade.
The proportion of adults in the United States using and abusing marijuana at least doubled between 2001 and 2013, rising to about 22 million people, according to a new study.
The long-term use of cannabis, also known as marijuana, has a number of adverse effects including contributing to psychosis, anxiety, depression, schizophrenia and the increased incidence of suicide.
