  1. Chairman of Iran’s Expediency Council Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani has held Saudi Arabia responsible for the tragic incident of Mina that led to the death of hundreds of pilgrims. Other top Iranian clerics also offered condolences, calling the incident a great tragedy for Muslims across the globe.
  2. Saudi Arabia’s airstrikes on the Yemeni province of Ta’izz have left at least three minors dead. Ten people were also killed in ground fighting in the province. More than 62-hundred Yemenis, mostly civilians, have been killed since the onset of Riyadh’s onslaught in late March.
  3. Three Saudi military staff, including a general, have been killed in clashes with Yemen’s Ansarullah and allied army units in the kingdom's Jizan region. Saudi media have confirmed the death of the general. Yemeni forces target Saudi positions in response to Riyadh’s deadly aggression.
  4. Palestinian Authority’s Minister of Prisoner Affairs, Issa Qaraqe, says a total of 17 Palestinians are currently on a hunger strike in Israeli prisons. He further said more than 100 additional prisoners have threatened to join the strike if Israel does not respond to their demand by October ten.
  5. Amnesty International has slammed as an extrajudicial execution the killing of Palestinian teenager Hadeel al-Hashlamon by Israeli troops in the occupied West Bank. Amnesty also rejected Israelis’ account of Hashlamon's death. Israelis claim the 18-year-old Palestinian was trying to attack a soldier at the checkpoint.
  6. More European countries backtrack from their harsh stance on the government of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad. The British foreign secretary says it is necessary to talk with Assad as an actor during a transition of power. German and French officials made similar comments earlier this month.
  7. Russia has agreed to resume gas supply to Ukraine for the coming winter under a deal reached in E-U-brokered talks. The accord gives Ukraine a price discount determined quarterly. Russia halted gas flow to Ukraine in July over a pricing dispute.
  8. Iran’s foreign minister has called for the timely implementation of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action reached between Tehran and the P-five-plus one group. Mohammad Javad Zarif made the remark in a meeting with the head of International Atomic Energy Agency in New York.
