An American
analyst told Press TV on Monday that the American middle class is
failing.
“The problem is that these are systematic problems that go back to when the United States joined these free trade agreements like NAFTA,” Mike Harris, financial editor of Veterans Today, said.
“The U.S. economy is going to continue to degrade and continue to decline,” as long as American jobs are "leaving the United States," he added.
The analyst also
noted that “the only solution to this is to get out of these free trade
agreements.”
The U.S. government claims the country’s economy is recovering.
But many economists like Michael Porter from Harvard University believe that the
American middle class is "hollowing out."
Porter said that America used to be a uniquely productive and low-cost place to do business but now the U.S. infrastructure is eroding and the country is falling behind on skills.
