U.S.
President Barack Obama has reportedly promised the Israeli regime that he will
begin deploying U.S. troops in Egyptian Sinai.
According to the
Israeli military intelligence website DEBKAfile, in a conversation with the
Israeli regime’s Prime Minister Benyamin Netanyahu, Obama pledged that U.S.
troops would soon be en route to the Sinai Peninsula.
DEBKAfile says
the conversation took place on a secure line Wednesday morning just hours before
a ceasefire agreement between Tel Aviv and the Palestinian resistance movement
Hamas was announced.
Earlier this
week, it was also reported that Obama talked to Netanyahu after the ceasefire
and pledged to boost Washington’s military and financial aid to
Israel.
According to the
White House readout on Obama’s phone call, he “said that the United States would
use the opportunity offered by a ceasefire to intensify efforts to help Israel
address its security needs”.
During the
Israeli regime’s deadly offensive on the besieged Gaza Strip this month, more
than 160 Palestinians were killed and some 1,200 others were injured
Ben Rhodes,
White House deputy national security adviser, told reporters last week that the
United States “wants the same thing as the Israelis want”.

also said that the U.S. is "fully supportive of Israel's right to defend
itself". Huffington Post Critics charge
that when Palestinians are being killed at a ratio of 100 to one, it’s hard to
believe the propaganda that Israel is merely “defending itself.”
