David Swanson, author of “War Is a Lie” and co-founder of warisacrime.org says the City Council of Charlottesville, Virginia has voted for a resolution opposing the launching of a war on Iran.

“We think it was the first city in the United States to officially pass a resolution urging the Congress and the president of the United States not to engage in any military actions against Iran,” Swanson told Press TV's U.S. Desk in an interview on Wednesday.

“I've begun hearing from quite a few towns and cities around the country from citizens in towns and cities around the country that they want to try to do the same thing,” he said.

“We certainly hope that it helps and we hope that people in Iran as well as in the rest of the world hear the news and understand that many of us do not want a war,” Swanson concluded.
