John Isaacs, the
executive director of Council for a Livable World, says the U.S. so-called war
on terror in Afghanistan has inflicted ‘dramatic costs’ on American taxpayers --
estimated long-term costs to be ‘up to three to five trillion
dollars.’
It includes ‘the
cost of bringing the U.S. troops home and long-term care’ Isaacs told Press TV's
U.S. Desk on Wednesday.
He added that
the war had not been a financial gain for the U.S. ‘but a clear financial loss’
in particularly a time when ‘the United States is concerned about federal budget
deficits.’
"I think it's a
lot of money that has been wasted and that continues to be wasted until all U.S.
troops come home," he stated.
