Lawmakers were presented reports on the unrest in the country.
Iran's Intelligence Ministry has provided the country's parliament with a report of the recent unrest which has so far resulted in the death of eight people.

During a briefing by the National Security and Foreign Policy Commission of the Iranian Majlis, lawmakers were informed about the current situation in the country.

Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani on Tuesday established a committee to investigate the "unfortunate incidents" at a Tehran University dormitory in the aftermath of the disputed presidential election.

The development came after Iran's 10th presidential election provoked protests around the country. In Tehran, pro-Moussavi supporters, who reject the election as fraudulent, have clashed with anti-riot police.

On Sunday clashes reportedly spread to a Tehran University dormitory.

"The head of the committee, Hojjatoleslam Aboutorabi also provided the Majlis with the results of the investigation," Hassan Kamran, the representative of the people of Isfahan, told reporters on Wednesday.

Discussion of the report will continue at the Majlis' next meeting, he added. No details of the reports to the Majlis have been revealed.
