The Islamic Republic of Iran is hosting the third International Conference and Festival of Islamic Resistance in the central city of Isfahan.
More than 600 representatives from 11 countries, including Syria, Lebanon, Egypt, Saudi Arabia and Tunisia are attending the two-day conference, which kicked off on Wednesday.
Ali Akbar Velayati, a senior advisor to Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, told Press TV on Wednesday that the conference would focus on the Palestinian cause.
He said the occupation of Palestine was one of the most serious challenges to the Islamic world, stressing that “it is the duty of all Muslims … to help the Palestinians to liberate Palestine.”
Velayati went on to say that the conference also aims to explain the link between the Islamic Awakening and Islamic resistance.
