Iran’s 1st International Video Film Festival has announced the jury members for the international section of the event that is slated to be held in Tehran and two other cities.
A number of selected filmmakers including Marek Piestrak from Poland, Scott J.T. Frank from the United States, and Vinay Shukla from India are to serve in the festival’s jury panel.
The Algerian artistic director of the Geneva International Oriental Film Festival Tahar Houchi and Iranian actress Hengameh Qaziani will be on the panel, as well.
About 15 films from nine countries including Turkey, Germany, India, France, Russia, Spain and Iran will be competing in the international section of the 5-day festival held in Tehran, the Persian Gulf island of Abu Musa and the northern Iranian city Rasht.
Over 700 films were submitted to the secretariat of the gala; many of them are created by the renowned Iranian directors.
Sponsored by Iranian Visual Media Institute and Iran Cinema Organization, the festival is programmed to be held from June 17 to 22, 2012.
