Another US-led NATO soldier serving with the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) has been killed in southern Afghanistan, Press TV reports.
In a statement released on Thursday, the NATO-led ISAF said that the soldier was killed in a bomb attack.
“An ISAF service member died following an improvised explosive device (IED) attack in southern Afghanistan today,” the statement said.
The ISAF statement gave no details about the nationality of the soldier.
According to official figures released by the website
icasualties.org, the latest death brings to 2939 the number of foreign soldiers killed in Afghanistan since the US-led invasion of the Asian country in 2001.
Insecurity continues to rise across Afghanistan despite the presence of thousands of US-led forces.
