Art Dubai to exhibit works from two Iranian galleries

The 6t edition of Art Dubai is slated to exhibit artworks from two well-known contemporary Iranian galleries of Aran and Etemad.


The 2012 edition of the exhibition will display works by more than 500 artists from 32 countries such as Germany, the US, China, Iran and India.

Several Iranian artists will participate in the event including Mahmoud Bakhshi, Morteza Ahmadvand, Shohreh Mehran and Mohammad-Qasem Ashfaq.

The fourth one-million-dollar Abraaj Capital Art Prize which is the leading award for artists from the Middle East, North Africa and South Asia (MENASA), will also be granted at this year's event.

One of the most significant art venues in the region, Art Dubai attracts thousands of visitors from across the world, especially the Middle East and East Asia.

The 2011 edition of the event hosted over 20,000 art lovers including leading curators, museum directors, artists and museum groups.

The 6th Art Dubai will kick off on March 21, 2012 and will run until March 24.
