At least three people have been killed and 33 others wounded following a bomb attack on a NATO convoy in Afghanistan's southwestern province of Helmand, Press TV reports.
On Thursday morning, an explosive-laden vehicle hit the gate of a building in the city of Lashkar Gah, where the convoy of NATO aid workers and engineers was coming out.
No group has yet claimed responsibility for the incident, but it is highly suspected that the attack was launched by the Taliban militants as Helmand is considered as one of the key hotbeds of the group.
The US-led war in Afghanistan has become the longest military conflict in American history.
More than a decade after the US-led invasion of Afghanistan under the pretext of “fighting terrorism” and establishing security in the country, insecurity across the Asian country continues to escalate despite the presence of tens of thousands of foreign troops.
