NATO's International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) says a US-led soldier has died as a result of non-battle injuries in southern Afghanistan, Press TV reports.
The Western military alliance confirmed the soldier's death without revealing the nationality of the soldier or any further details on the matter.
ISAF does not disclose the identity of the Afghan war casualties, arguing that “it is ISAF policy to defer casualty identification procedures to the relevant national authorities.”
Nearly 30 US-led foreign service members, including 22 US troops, have been killed in Afghanistan since the beginning of 2012.
The US-led war in Afghanistan, with civilian and military casualties at record high, has become the longest military conflict in American history.
