At least six Afghan civilians have been killed after a US-led military convoy came under a bomb attack at the international airport in the southern Afghan city of Kandahar, Press TV reports.
The bomber targeted a military convoy of US-led forces Thursday afternoon at the entry gate of the airport of Kandahar city, the capital of southern Kandahar province.
However, the Taliban claim that 12 foreign forces have been killed in the attack.
The US-led war in Afghanistan, with civilian and military casualties at record high, has become the longest military conflict in the American history.
The US-led invasion of Afghanistan began in 2001 under the pretext of 'fighting terror,' toppling the Taliban regime, and establishing security in the country.
However, insecurity across Afghanistan continues to escalate despite the presence of tens of thousands of foreign troops in the country.
