A violent militant attack in southern Afghanistan has killed a solider with the US-led International Security Assistance Force (ISAF), Press TV reports.
The ISAF confirmed the killing in a statement on Thursday, saying the soldier was killed in a roadside bomb attack in southern Afghanistan on Wednesday.
The US-led military alliance gave no further details about the incident.
More than a dozen foreign troopers have lost their lives in Afghanistan since the beginning of 2012.
The US-led war in Afghanistan, with civilian and military casualties at record high, has become the longest military conflict in American history.
The increasing number of military casualties in Afghanistan has caused widespread anger in the US and other NATO member states, undermining public support for the Afghan war.
The US-led invasion of Afghanistan began in 2001 under the pretext of 'fighting terror,' toppling the Taliban regime, and establishing security in the country.
However, insecurity across Afghanistan continues to deteriorate despite the presence of nearly 150,000 foreign troops in the country.
