Iranian filmmaker Negar Azarbaijani's Facing Mirrors is to be screened at the 2011 edition of the International Film Festival of Kerala (IFFK).
Azarbaijani's first cinematic production will take part in the Contemporary World Cinema section of the Indian festival that will be held in Trivandrum, Kerala, ISNA reported.
Facing Mirrors weaves together episodes of two women with different social and cultural backgrounds as their paths cross.
Produced and written by Fereshteh Taerpour, the film won great acclaim after its first screening at the Focus on World Cinema section of Montreal's 2011 World Film Festival.
As Iran's only feature-length representative, Facing Mirrors was also screened at the National Geographic All Roads Film Project held in Washington DC.
Azarbaijani's film also competed at the 8th Syracuse International Film Festival in New York City.
The 16th International Film Festival of Kerala (IFFK) which kicked off on December 9, will run until December 16, 2011.
