Chinese shepherds with their sheep rescued from blizzard

A group of shepherds got trapped in the blizzard with their sheep in the Jeminay County, northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region.

A group of shepherds and their sheep that were trapped in blizzard for over 70 hours has been rescued in northwestern China.

Shepherds with over 160,000 sheep got trapped in snow after they set out to guide their livestock to winter grazing grounds from the summer ones. The roads were covered completely by snow and made it really difficult for the shepherds and sheep to move on.

Local authorities called enough manpower for rescue operations and mobilized heavy duty machines to pave a 750 kilometer passage for the shepherds and their animals.
