American police officers have killed a 95-year-old man with stun guns and bean bag rounds after a confrontation near Chicago. John Warna, who was living in a retirement home in Park Forest, Illinois, was killed on Saturday, NBC News reported. The incident happened after the victim threatened paramedics and staff with a cane and a metal shoehorn when police arrived at the facility. Police struck him with a Taser and bean bag rounds after the old man threatened officers with a butcher knife. The Illinois resident was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he later pronounced dead. Police officers use bean bag rounds, which are considered a “less lethal” way to stop suspects found by police to be dangerous. Warna’s cause of death was not released by Saturday evening. AGB/AGB
