With Football teams preparing for the next season, two clubs from Iran and Ukraine met after a 10 year pause. Press TV's correspondent Oleksandra Molotkova has this report from Kiev. Tehran's Esteghlal played a friendly match against Dinamo Kiev in an off season exhibition friendly. Esteghlal is one of the most popular football clubs in Asia and currently plays in The Iran Pro League while Ukraine’s principal club Dynamo Kiev is currently playing in the Ukrainian Premier League. 10 years ago national teams of Iran and Ukraine played the last match with the Iranian team winning 1:0. Fans say this match between the clubs reflects the friendship, reviving the common football history. The history repeated itself when Iranian club defeated its rival with a 2:1 vicotory. After the match Esteghlal coach had these words about the Ukrainian outfit... As the partnership between the clubs seems to be on the rise, officials hope sport will bring the countries closer. Football leagues in Iran and Ukraine will start soon. Both Esteqlad and Dynamo Kiev will do their best to top the list of the countries’ best clubs again.
