Iranian volleyball players have gained their first victory in the 2013 FIVB World League against Serbia. The Iranian national volleyball team defeated Serbia 3-2 (25-20, 24-26, 23-25,25-22,15-12) in a home match at Azadi sports complex in capital Tehran on Sunday. Iran took a 7-3 lead at the beginning of the first set, but later tied at 12. However, it managed to finish the first set 25-23. The Iranian v-ballers were very close to winning the second set, but they lost it to their rivals 24-26. The third set was also finished 23-25 for the Serbians, but Iran came back from behind to win the fourth set 25-22, and the final 15-12 to seal the victory. Iran, which is in Pool B along with Italy, Russia, Serbia, Germany, and Cuba, is in the fifth spot of the table with three points. In other matches of the day, in Pool A France beat Poland 3-2, and Bulgaria defeated Argentina 3-1, in Pool B, Germany hit Cuba 3-1, and in Pool C, Netherlands blanked Portugal 3-0.
