Iran is planning to hold the 30th edition of International Competitions of the Holy Qur’an at the Summit Conference Hall in the capital city of Tehran. Many participants are to represent their countries at the event in several categories, the director of Iran’s State Endowment and Charity Affairs Organization Ali Mohammadi announced. Hashem Soltannejad and Vahid Vakili have been named to represent Iran in the memorization and recitation categories at the upcoming event. This year’s competition is slated to host a seminar on Qur’anic research that will be held on the sidelines of the international contest. Some 50 reciters and 40 memorizers of the holy Qur’an from about 70 countries took part in last year’s edition.
