Prominent Iranian actress and filmmaker Niki Karimi’s movie Final Whistle is slated to be screened at the 2013 Freiburg Film Forum in Germany.
The Iranian director Karimi is planning to take part in the screening program of her latest directorial production at the German festival.
Featuring social and private life interactions, Final Whistle
is about a documentarian couple who have their calm life disrupted.
The movie went on many international screens and received three awards only at the 2012 edition of the French festival held in Vesoul.
As Iran's only representative, Final Whistle
swept the Best Director, Paris Institute of Eastern Languages, and France Young Jury awards of the festival.
also won top prize at the 2013 Mannheim-Heidelberg International Film Festival in Germany.
The film was also screened at the 8th edition of Dubai International Film Festival (DIFF), the 2011 Busan International Film Festival, and the 22nd Festival of Iranian Films at Chicago's Gene Siskel Film Center.
Karimi made her directorial debut with One Night
in 2004 and her second film A Few Days Later
(2006) premiered at Rome Film Festival.
Established in 1985, Freiburg Film Festival focuses on ethnologically motivated films from and about Africa, Asia, America and Oceania.
The 8th edition of Freiburg Film Forum is scheduled to take place in the city of Freiburg from May 7 to 12, 2013.
