Iranian actress Asal Badiei has passed away in the capital city of Tehran’s Loqman Hospital at the age of 36 as she was declared brain dead.
Badiei who was hospitalized due to breathing difficulties on March 31, died the day after on April 1, 2013.
According to her will, she had donated all her transplantable organs to the patients in need.
“She accomplished her work in art by donating her organs to the patients,” Head of the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB) Ezzatollah Zarghami said in a letter of condolence sent to Badiei’s family.
Born in 1977 in Tehran, Badiei made her film debut in To Be or Not to Be
directed by Kianoush Ayyari in 1996. The film was centered on organ donation.

Her funeral is scheduled to be held on Sunday, April 7, in front of Vahdat Hall.
