The volume of Iran foreign trade exchanges has reached USD78 billion during the first ten months of the current Persian calendar year (started March 21, 2012), an official says.

Over the period, exports earned the country USD34 billion while imports fetched USD44 billion, deputy head of Trade Promotion Organization of Iran Kioumars Fathollah Kermanshahi said on Monday.

Non-oil products constituted the lion's share of Iran exports, showing 30-percent growth from a year ago, the Iranian official pointed out.

During the ten-month period, roughly 3,000 items were exported to other countries mainly by 1,000 out of a total 8,000 exporters, Kermanshahi added.

According to the Information Network for Iran Production and Trade, China, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Iraq, India, Afghanistan, Turkey, Turkmenistan, Pakistan, Azerbaijan and South Korea were the major markets for Iran’s non-oil exports.

Meanwhile, UAE, China, South Korea, Germany, Switzerland, Russia, the Netherlands, Italy, India and Turkey were top exporters to Iran.
