The renowned French double bass player and composer Renaud Garcia-Fons is slated to perform at the 2013 edition of Fajr International Music Festival.
Garcia-Fons will present his program at the international section of the festival that is to be held in Rudaki and Vahdat Halls in the Iranian capital of Tehran.
Born in 1962, Renaud Garcia-Fons is internationally known for his customized 5-stringed bass.
Garcia-Fons who is of Spain’s Catalonian origin also won fame for his melodic sense and viola-like col arco in his Spanish-French creations.
Some 57 ensembles from over 70 submitted groups were selected to take part in the 28th edition of the festival.
Tehran Symphony Orchestra and Iran’s National Orchestra are also to perform their programs at this year’s music festival.
Iran's Fajr International Music Festival is part of the country's cultural programs held every year to commemorate the anniversary of the 1979 Islamic Revolution.
The 2013 Fajr International Music Festival is programmed to take place from February 13 to 19, at six music halls in Tehran.
