Habayit Hayehudi party leader says that he and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's wife were in "a terrorism class together."
When asked in a televised interview on Wednesday about working in a possible coalition with Benjamin Netanyahu side-by-side with the PM and his wife despite their bad history, Naftali Bennett said “It will be fine.”
“We served in the same unit, so that should delete our history,” the party leader said.
When asked whether he was referring to himself and Sara Netanyahu, Bennett said, “Yes, exactly, Sara and I were mostly in terrorism class together.”
“There is nothing that 15 Knesset seats won’t cure. Netanyahu and I will work very well together,” he added.
Bennett was Netanyahu’s bureau chief and ran his campaign for the Likud party leadership in 2007. However, Bennett later resigned from his position after quarreling with Netanyahu’s wife.
