Israeli oppression and human rights violation in Palestine that were so far camouflaged and shielded have now come out in open. The tyrant regime of Israel may have slaughtered around 170, injured 1200, destroyed homes, orphaned thousands and ruined the lives of innumerable innocent Palestinians. But at the end of the day it has earned nothing but hatred and disgust from around the world. One of the major weapons in the hands of Zionist Israel in all these years was undoubtedly the media, which has played the most crucial role in the existence and survival of this apartheid regime. Of course! We can't deny the role of mass murders, target killings and systematic ethnic cleansing over these years. Tyranny and Media are the two main pillars on which modern day Israel stands. On the one hand they bomb houses, destroy lives, kill innocents and on the other hand portray themselves as the most oppressed people of the world. The most vital role of the Zionist media has been to cover-up their horrendous crimes and portray the victim as the villain and vice versa. The holocaust card, depiction of Palestinians as terrorists, demonization of Hamas, Hezbollah and Iran are all a part of this game plan. The Palestinian men, women and children who are slaughtered on a daily basis are referred to as dangerous terrorists while the Israelis are innocent civilians. Hamas; a political outfit and the largest humanitarian organization in Palestine is a "terrorist outfit". Hezbollah and Iran that have never attacked any country are the "biggest threat to world peace". At the same time, Israel; the only country that possesses nuclear weapons in the Middle East and has not allowed a single inspection of its nuclear sites by international agencies, kills Palestinians on a daily basis and funds terrorist operations worldwide is the symbol of peace in the Middle East. God bless the symbol of peace…..and may peace's soul rest in peace. War and its outcome According to the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) even the most recent Israeli assault on Gaza code named Pillar of Defense "was intended to protect Israeli civilians from rockets and mortars fired by militants in Gaza, as well as cripple Hamas's capability to launch attacks".(BBC, Q&A: Israel-Gaza violence, 22 November 2012) Israel's offensive on Gaza began with the air strike that assassinated Ahmad Jabbari , Hamas's military commander whom it accused of being responsible for all terrorist activities against Israel from Gaza over the past decade. Although, biased media organizations and Super Terrorist governments aka Super Powers have supported and justified Israel's aggression; responsible media set-ups, rights groups and human rights activists around the world have bravely exposed the gross human rights violations committed in Gaza.
News agencies, blogs and think tanks based in Middle East and around the world have sincerely reported on the ground realities in Gaza earning worldwide repute and respect. Even the Human Rights Watch (HRW) strongly criticized Israel. People around the world gathered in large numbers to express their support and solidarity for the Palestinians. Demonstrations were held in U.S.A, Canada, Mexico, Chile, Venezuela, U.K, Belgium, Greece, Spain, France, Germany, Iran, Iraq, Egypt, Syria, Lebanon, Afghanistan, Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, Indonesia and China to name a few. The world has changed for better and Israel's version of the news is no longer considered the word of God.Increasing support for Palestine This war was the third launched by Israel in the last six years. The 2006 attack on Lebanon was followed by cruel assaults on Gaza in 2008-09 and now again in 2012. All three blunders have resulted in diminishing international support for Israel. Many countries like Iran, Iraq, Syria, Sudan, Lebanon, etc have openly called Israel a terrorist regime and called for its boycott and disinvestment. It's only a matter of time that others will follow suit. I don't deny the fact that a lot of regimes covertly and overtly support Israel. However, millions across the world are standing up in support of the oppressed masses in Palestine, human qualities of brotherhood and love unites Palestinians with the rest of the world. This I feel is the biggest victory for the Palestinians which no amount of Israeli money, American aid or missiles and bombs can buy. The Iron Dome Utopia Sayyad Hasan Nasrallah, Hezbollah's General Secretary once said: "Israel is weaker than a spider's web." These were not just words of encouragement for Hezbollah but a truth that the world understood from Israel's 33 days blunder in Lebanon in 2006.
According to the Global Militarization Index Israel is the most militarized country in the world. Its air force is considered second only to that of the US. The Israeli and Western media was all gaga about the Iron Dome air defense system, and its capability to intercept any missiles fired from across the border, sadly their sweet dreams were shattered by the Palestinian bottle rockets and hand held missile launchers. For all their boasting about its capabilities, it intercepted only 25% of the missiles fired, and the cost of each missile is said to be around $125,000 while most of the Palestinian bottle rackets and hand held ones cost only a few dollars. The Iron Dome uses American missiles designed to intercept Intercontinental Ballistic Missiles (ICBMs) and not a barrage of small artillery rockets.Whatever be the case, the truth of the matter is that the Iron dumb (oops Dome) air defense system is a failure both in terms of money and utility. UN vote a slap on Israel's face Another major blow to this rogue regime was the United Nations General Assembly vote to award 'non-member statehood' to Palestine on 30 of November, 2012. Finally, after years of struggle Palestine achieved its goal or a part of it. Despite all attempts by Israel and the U.S to block the resolution or defeat it, Palestine won the resolution by 138 to 9, with 41 abstentions. For all its muscle flexing the Zionists managed to get only 9 countries to vote in their favor. Isn't it a defeat for Israel? Where are its media houses and propaganda machinery? Where are its Murdoch's and Adelson's? Believe it or not, the countdown has begun…it's only a matter of days and as Ayatollah Khamenei says: "Palestine will be free, let there be no doubt about it." God willing. AMJ/JR
