Palestinians celebrate their victory over Israel in Gaza, November 21, 2012.
Iran’s Majlis (parliament) Speaker Ali Larijani has hailed the victory of the Islamic resistance over the Israeli regime in the recent Tel Aviv aggression against the Gaza Strip.
In separate messages to Ismail Haniyeh, the democratically-elected Palestinian Prime Minister, and Abdel Aziz al-Dweik, the Palestinian parliament speaker, Larijani congratulated them on the victory.
“The glorious victory of the resistance and the humiliating defeat of the Zionist regime, the enemy that accepts no logic, once again revealed to all that only strong resistance can stop the aggressors,” Larijani said.
He said that the Zionist regime imposed its conditions on some Arab leaders in all previous wars and added it was only in the 33-day Israeli war with Hezbollah, the 22-day resistance of the Gaza Strip as well as the recent attack that the oppressed side could impose its conditions on the aggressors.
He said that the victory was achieved due to the unity of all Palestinian factions and groups, sacrifice and martyrdom of Palestinian fighters and true faith in God.
Larijani also expressed Majlis readiness to offer any assistance to the brave and heroic people of Gaza.
On November 14, the Israeli regime launched a deadly offensive on the blockaded Gaza Strip, which killed more than 160 Palestinians and injured some 1,200 others. In retaliation, Palestinian resistance fighters fired rockets and missiles into the Israeli cities, killing at least five Israelis.
On Wednesday, Egypt announced that the Israeli regime and the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas have reached a ceasefire agreement.
Under the deal, the Palestinians and Israelis agreed to end all hostilities against each other. But the Israeli regime did not agree to lift the blockade of the Gaza Strip.
