Chairman of Iran’s Majlis Committee on National Security and Foreign Policy Alaeddin Boroujerdi
A senior Iranian lawmaker says the Israeli regime will face another defeat in the Gaza Strip, as the latest wave of deadly Israeli airstrikes on the besieged enclave continues unabated for the fifth day.
“The Zionist regime (Israel) is faced with a serious crisis and desperation; and like the 33-day and 22-day wars (on Lebanon and Gaza), the world will witness the regime’s defeat in its attack on Gaza,” Chairman of the Majlis Committee on National Security and Foreign Policy Alaeddin Boroujerdi said on Saturday.
He added that Israel’s aggression against the Gaza Strip was a pre-planned US plot and noted that certain countries in the region implemented the same scheme in an attempt to weaken the resistance and Hamas against Zionism.
Boroujerdi emphasized that the Israeli regime would definitely be disgraced by the resistance’s moves and its increasing power.
Nearly 50 Palestinians have been killed and more than 400 others wounded since the recent Israeli attacks against the Gaza Strip began on Wednesday. Many Palestinian women and children have been among the fatalities.
Israeli aircraft also bombed Hamas’ government buildings in the Palestinian territory on Saturday. The Tel Aviv regime also authorized the mobilization of up to 75,000 reservists, preparing for a possible ground invasion of the Gaza Strip.
