The Azeri government has denied fatalities and injuries in an explosion at an oil refinery in Baku, despite reports by witnesses that several people were killed and dozens more were wounded.
The explosion took place at the Heydar Aliyev Oil Refinery on Monday.
Witnesses, including employees at the scene, said at least 10 people were killed and several others wounded in the blast.
However, the government fell short of confirming any injuries or deaths.
No concrete explanation has also been provided for the cause of the explosion.
However, some sources at the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan have reportedly cited technical glitches.
