A top commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) says Tehran’s answer to any threat against the country will be “unimaginable.”
Commander of the IRGC Ground Forces Brigadier General Mohammad Pakpour said on Saturday that Iranian armed forces are at the peak of their readiness and will give firm and unimaginable answer to any possible threat.
The Iranian commander noted that the IRGC Ground Forces have achieved self-sufficiency in producing ground and missile combat equipment by relying on capability and expertise of Iranian specialists.
In recent years, Iran has made great achievements in its defense sector and attained self-sufficiency in producing essential military equipment and systems.
Commenting on US minesweeping drill near the Persian Gulf, Pakpour said, “We do not consider every drill a threat to ourselves.”
The US is conducting the anti-mine exercises near the Persian Gulf in cooperation with more than 30 countries. The maneuvers formally began earlier this week but only got under way at sea on Thursday.
The US Navy claims that the exercises are purely defensive and not directed at any country.
Senior Iranian Navy commander Second Rear Admiral Hossein Azad said on Thursday that Iran's Armed Forces completely monitor maneuvers of the United States and other countries near the Persian Gulf and other strategic waterways in the Middle East.
