Syrian Ambassador to Tehran Hamed HassanThe Syrian Ambassador to Tehran says his country has always rejected plans dictated by Western countries and is opposed to the regional presence of the global arrogance. “Syria opposes the presence of the [global] arrogance in the region and has countered the apparently peaceful, but [actually] hegemonic policies of the Zionist regime [of Israel],” Hamed Hassan said in a meeting with Iranian academics on Wednesday. The Syrian ambassador stated that the US and its allies have mobilized the United Nations Security Council and Human Rights Council against Syria.
“The blood of the innocent and oppressed people of Syria is now being spilled by terrorists and groups affiliated with the global Arrogance,” he added.Hassan noted that Syria has always supported Lebanon, Palestine and the Hezbollah-led Islamic Resistance against Israel, saying that Syria considers the Islamic Republic of Iran a friend. Syria has been experiencing unrest since March 2011. Damascus says ‘outlaws, saboteurs, and armed terrorists’ are the driving factor behind the unrest and deadly violence while the opposition accuses the security forces of being behind the killings.
