The Iranian Majlis (parliament) has issued a statement signed by 250 lawmakers to condemn the production of a US-made film which desecrates Islam’s Prophet Mohammad (PBUH). Iranian lawmakers in their statement urged the Islamic governments to stop their indifference and defend the honor of the Islamic world against the enemies of Islam. “The World’s Muslims should know that the war between Islam and blasphemy is a real war and the only way for the salvation of humanity is resorting to the path of Mohammad (PBUH) and his book, the Qur’an, and to resist the US and Zionism,” the statement added. The lawmakers also called on Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu to convene an emergency meeting of the organization to determine the strategy of the Islamic countries for countering this plot. “The United States, the West and Zionism should know that their conflicting behavior has become obvious to the oppressed people of the world and their deception will be no longer effective,” the statement read. Fury over the US-made anti-Islam film produced by an Israeli-American has spread across the Muslim world with protesters marching on the US embassies and torching the US flags. The film has been made thanks to Jewish donations totaling USD 5 million. TE/SS/AZ
