The United States is in front of a huge defeat because obviously they underestimated the strength of the Muslim World.”

Outrage gains momentum throughout the Muslim World from West Africa all the way to Far East, against a US-made provocative, blasphemous movie that insults Prophet Mohammad (PBUH).

The USD 5-million inflammatory movie, named Innocence of Muslims was financed and sponsored by more than 100 Zionist Jews.

Press TV has talked with political analyst Kamel Wazne from the Lebanese capital of Beirut to shed more light on the issue.

What follows is an approximate transcription of the interview.

Press TV: I want to ask you about your assessment. There has been a number of days now of protests throughout the world, in up to 32 countries as we have been reporting. How important of an impact do you think that this will have in relations between the United States and the Muslim World?

Wazne: I think that the United States is in front of a huge defeat because obviously they underestimated the strength of the Muslim World and they are attached to their profit.

They underestimated what it means to have a faith in a great religion like Islam and to have a great love for their prophet.

I think that the United States is looking around and is not understanding what is taking place but the anger and the hatred for what has been taking place by releasing this film and knowing that the one who did [make] this film resides in the United States and the United States has not taken any legal action or does not have anything on the book to protect the Muslims’ religion or a major figure like the Prophet Muhammad [PBUH].

So the United States is getting bamboozled by all these demonstrators around the world and the United States actually has shown a great weakness for not responding firmly to what is taking place around the globe.

The Muslim world, as we have been saying all along, is not going to sit quiet about attacking the prophet, the great prophet of Islam [Prophet] Mohammad - Peace Be Upon Him - and would not allow that his image or his character or his beliefs to be destroyed by a Zionist movement that actually shipped money to build that movie and to promote the movie.

We know for fact as been reported by media outlet, by the CNN and another media outlet that there is 100 Jewish individuals who made donations and contributions to make this movie.

Press TV: The argument has been made that this is the freedom of speech. How do you respond to that?

Wazne: It is not freedom of speech when you attack a great religion. This is infringement, an attack, an assault on a religion.

There is a big difference between freedom of speech and assaulting a religion, assaulting a prophet and this is where the United States is making the huge mistake and I think eventually they will catch up to the huge mistake by underestimating [the Muslim world] and not being very candid about how to go about admitting that they made a huge mistake and put new laws on the books.

I think the world will see this will not go away, that the people who are demonstrating are not going to back down and I think this will tie the United States’ hands and force it to admit that they should have some laws on the books that make what happened a crime and punishable and prosecutable.
