Police in New York City have arrested at least 35 Occupy Wall Street (OWS) protesters marking the first anniversary of the grass-roots anti-capitalist movement.
At least 20 people were taken into custody on Monday at one entrance to Wall Street, AFP reported.
Eight more protesters were detained at another entry point to the New York Stock Exchange.
Others were arrested when they started moving from Zuccotti Park, the site of the OWS movement's birth, toward Wall Street as security forces blocked side streets.
